Pastor Jennifer L. Shimota began serving the people and community of Coble's Evangelical Lutheran Church in June of 2023. Prior to this call, she served as the Coordinator of Enrollment at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary of Lenoir Rhyne University in Columbia, SC. Before her ordination as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Pastor Jennifer was a high school English teacher in San Diego, CA
Pastor Jennifer's dear parents, daughter, and brother's family live close enough to see them often, which is her true joy. She has two grown children, two grandchildren, and a Siberian Husky named Eleanor Rigby. In her spare time, she loves to garden, cook, and preserve foods by canning them. Learning something new is a particular joy for her. She is deeply grateful for the ways God shows up in the small things.
